Low-Cost Internet for Eligible FCPS Families

Families in Fairfax County Public Schools may be able to get low-cost Internet at home through a national program that Cox Communications is participating in called Connect2Compete. If you have at least one child enrolled in the free school lunch program, you may be eligible for Internet service for only $9.95 a month and a free modem rental from Cox Communications. BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)

To support instruction, students have the opportunity to bring their personally owned electronic and computing devices to school for instructional use in the classroom. The use of student-owned devices is restricted to instructional activities under the direct supervision of a staff member. Students using privately owned electronic devices must follow the policies stated in Student Rights and Responsibilities while on school property, attending school-sponsored activities or using the FCPS network.

Cell Phones

Students are permitted to bring cell phones to school. However, during the instructional day, cell phones must remain turned off and in the student's backpack. Students are not permitted to talk, text, video/audio record or play games on any electronic device during the school day.

Technology At Home

Technology @ Home Program students can download MS Office for Free and purchase products for home technology use, directly from vendors at educational discount rates.
