Annual Veterans Day Concert
Our 2019 Veterans Day event will be on Monday, November 11, 2019. The first assembly for grades K-2 will be from 9:45 a.m.-10:15 a.m. The second assembly for grades 3-6 will be from 10:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Both assemblies will be in the cafeteria. Our assemblies will include patriotic music and a special speaker from our Sunrise Valley community.
We will have a reception for our veterans and current military-connected parents/guardians from 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m. in Room 207.
We are compiling a slide show of the veterans in our Sunrise Valley community to show during our morning announcements on Veteran’s Day. If you would like to submit a picture of a veteran in your family for the slide show, please email the picture (JPEG) to Mrs. Downward at firstname.lastname@example.org by October 31, 2019.
Month of the Military Child
April is the Month of the Military Child. We will recognize and show our appreciation for military-connected students by participating in Purple Up! day. Details about Purple Up! day in 2020 will be available soon. Everyone is encouraged to wear the color purple on this day.

The National Capital Region school liaison officers serve our school district. These school liaison officers are DOD employees. They are available to assist military families in all branches of the military with education-related matters.
