Sunrise Valley Elementary School had two assemblies today to express our gratitude for our nation's veterans. We also had a reception for the veterans in our community in between the assemblies.

The assemblies were filled with music. The 6th grade Woodwind Ensemble opened up the assemblies with the song America. Then the South Lakes High School Junior ROTC joined us for the presentation of the colors. We proudly sang the National Anthem and our school song. The 5th and 6th Grade Chorus sang I Hear America Singing and United We Stand

Our entire school joined in during a patriotic sing-a-long.

Today was spirit day. We wore red, white, and blue.

Our special speaker was Mr. Clapper and his dog. Mr. Clapper taught us to take care of other people.
